Narrative:
I was working gate xx. At approximately XA30 aircraft zyz arrived at my gate with a navigation problem. I called right&east on duty who began the troubleshooting. It was the end of my shift so I turned it over to the next shift a&P. Said right&east stayed with problem. The right&east found it needed a navigation receiver. We had '0' in stock. He then proceeded to rob the navigation receiver from aircraft xyz that was going OTS for a spoiler problem. He installed it in aircraft zyz. However he never made a write- up to cover the robbed navigation receiver. When he signed off aircraft zyz gripe, he then put in the serial numbers in the computer. My name came up in history for I had forgotten to sign off my computer. It was 50 mins after the end of my shift aircraft xyz went to the hangar, had the spoiler problem repaired and then departed without the navigation receiver installed due to no write-up on it. Down-line a crew griped the navigation problem and when the mechanics went to replace the receiver, found it missing.
