Narrative:
I was serving as sic on a learjet 25 with a highly experienced captain. I had only 8 hours in the type, with all hours with this captain. He is notorious for having his sic there only to warm the seat. It is largely a single-pilot operation. The flight was a part 91 flight he donated to a benefit auction. It was sight-seeing that took us over the olympic mountains and then over the san juan islands (all VFR). The VFR over the mountains took us 500 ft over a wildlife refuge at high power. Near friday harbor, the captain brought the aircraft down to within 500 ft of the surface. I mentioned something about the proximity of our position to the populated areas (beneath us). He wouldn't acknowledge me. Never was I in doubt of the safety of the flight. I was comfortable with the captain's flying but very uncomfortable with his decision to fly so low. I wasn't sure of the responsibilities I had or should have taken, being sic. I haven't flown with the captain since.

Title: FO OF A LEARJET, LR25, RPTS THAT THE CAPT MADE LOW PASSES NEAR UNCTLED ARPT, AND POPULATED AREAS, AT 500 FT ABOVE GND LEVEL. THE CAPT WAS MAKING SIGHT-SEEING FLT FOR A BENEFIT AUCTION.
Narrative: I WAS SERVING AS SIC ON A LEARJET 25 WITH A HIGHLY EXPERIENCED CAPT. I HAD ONLY 8 HRS IN THE TYPE, WITH ALL HRS WITH THIS CAPT. HE IS NOTORIOUS FOR HAVING HIS SIC THERE ONLY TO WARM THE SEAT. IT IS LARGELY A SINGLE-PLT OP. THE FLT WAS A PART 91 FLT HE DONATED TO A BENEFIT AUCTION. NEAR FRIDAY HARBOR, THE CAPT BROUGHT THE ACFT DOWN TO WITHIN 500 FT OF THE SURFACE. I MENTIONED SOMETHING ABOUT THE PROX OF OUR POS TO THE POPULATED AREAS (BENEATH US). HE WOULDN'T ACKNOWLEDGE ME. NEVER WAS I IN DOUBT OF THE SAFETY OF THE FLT. I WAS COMFORTABLE WITH THE CAPT'S FLYING BUT VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WITH HIS DECISION TO FLY SO LOW. I WASN'T SURE OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES I HAD OR SHOULD HAVE TAKEN, BEING SIC. I HAVEN'T FLOWN WITH THE CAPT SINCE.
