Narrative:
On takeoff at ict runway 19R, got a TCASII RA to 'reduce vertical climb,' for a target just showing up immediately above our aircraft. Pushed aircraft over into slight descent to avoid target immediately above us. When questioned, tower said citation had us in sight. We never had the traffic in sight nor were we advised by tower or departure control of the traffic.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR DC9 FLC INITIATE EVASIVE ACTION DUE TO TCASII RA IN DEP INITIAL CLBOUT OBSERVED ON TCASII. PIC QUESTIONED TWR, WHO ADVISED TFC, CESSNA JET, WAS MAINTAINING VISUAL SEPARATION FROM THE DC9. PIC NEVER SAW TFC OR WAS ADVISED OF TFC BY TWR OR TRACON DEP CTL.
