Narrative:
About 100 mi from our destination, I told the captain I was going off the center frequency to get the WX. We were about 10 mi from the joliet VOR and were to intercept the 359 degree radial outbound for the veena 1 arrival into milwaukee, wi -- not knowing the captain dialed in the wrong VOR frequency on #2 navigation radio. After crossing the jot VOR, he then dialed in the wrong VOR frequency on #1 navigation. Trying to intercept the 359 degree radial outbound took us off the airway to the northwest. After just coming back onto the center frequency, the center asked if we were intercepting the radial. The captain replied he was trying to while telling them the wrong VOR frequency he had dialed in. They advised us that the frequency to be used was 112.3 not 114.3, which was dialed in. We switched over to the right frequency and they gave us vectors to the veena intersection. Contributing factors were the normal workload that took the PNF away from monitoring the actions inside the cockpit, and a new first officer with a new captain.

Title: MLG ACFT. CAPT MISTUNED FO NAV RADIO AND THEN HE MISTUNED HIS OWN.
Narrative: ABOUT 100 MI FROM OUR DEST, I TOLD THE CAPT I WAS GOING OFF THE CTR FREQ TO GET THE WX. WE WERE ABOUT 10 MI FROM THE JOLIET VOR AND WERE TO INTERCEPT THE 359 DEG RADIAL OUTBOUND FOR THE VEENA 1 ARR INTO MILWAUKEE, WI -- NOT KNOWING THE CAPT DIALED IN THE WRONG VOR FREQ ON #2 NAV RADIO. AFTER XING THE JOT VOR, HE THEN DIALED IN THE WRONG VOR FREQ ON #1 NAV. TRYING TO INTERCEPT THE 359 DEG RADIAL OUTBOUND TOOK US OFF THE AIRWAY TO THE NW. AFTER JUST COMING BACK ONTO THE CTR FREQ, THE CTR ASKED IF WE WERE INTERCEPTING THE RADIAL. THE CAPT REPLIED HE WAS TRYING TO WHILE TELLING THEM THE WRONG VOR FREQ HE HAD DIALED IN. THEY ADVISED US THAT THE FREQ TO BE USED WAS 112.3 NOT 114.3, WHICH WAS DIALED IN. WE SWITCHED OVER TO THE RIGHT FREQ AND THEY GAVE US VECTORS TO THE VEENA INTXN. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS WERE THE NORMAL WORKLOAD THAT TOOK THE PNF AWAY FROM MONITORING THE ACTIONS INSIDE THE COCKPIT, AND A NEW FO WITH A NEW CAPT.
