Narrative:

On gear retraction, nose gear unsafe light came on. During 'C' check, nose gear was changed on aircraft. The target sensor for gear warning did not get xferred from old gear to new gear. On gear change paperwork, there is not a procedure to check gear warning lights.

Title: A DC9-30 RETURNED TO THE FIELD DUE TO A NOSE LNDG GEAR UNSAFE WARNING LIGHT CAUSED BY THE FAILURE TO XFER THE NOSE GEAR POS SENSOR TARGET FROM THE REMOVED GEAR TO THE REPLACEMENT GEAR.
