Narrative:

Upon landing on runway 4R at chandler municipal airport, the airplane veered off to the left of the runway. It continued off the runway and struck a VASI light with the left tire which caused light damage to the left leading edge of the wing and to the belly pan on the underside of the airplane. Probable cause was determined to be a left dragging brake. Type of footwear worn allowed feet to slip when attempting to brake the aircraft and prevent it from veering further off the runway. Tower controller advised that it would not be necessary to notify the FAA due to the fact that damage to the aircraft was minimal. Type of footwear worn should permit solid control of brake pedals.
