Narrative:
During an ILS approach to runway 35L at den, as the aircraft was in the landing flare, a gust of wind lifted the right wing at touchdown. The first officer was flying the aircraft. The aircraft touched down on the left main gear first and the outboard flap on the left wing touched the ground and was damaged. Supplemental information from acn 416257: reported wind on ATIS was 050 degrees at 15 KTS. The captain assisted the first officer in leveling the wings at touchdown. We were unaware of a wing/ground strike until the mechanic informed us of wingtip damage upon reaching the parking area. The outboard leading edge device and trailing edge flap were damaged. Supplemental information from acn 416259: ATIS visibility was RVR 2600 ft, variable 5000 ft. While in parking area to unload cargo, the mechanic came to the cockpit and told the flight crew that the outer wing flap on the left wing looked as if it had made ground contact. The flight crew exited the aircraft to confirm damage and entered same in logbook.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A LNDG B727-100 FREIGHTER STRIKES ITS L WINGTIP DURING THE EARLY MORNING LNDG PHASE. A GUST OF WIND HAD LIFTED THE R WING JUST PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN. THE WIND WAS RPTED AT 050 DEGS 15 KTS.
Narrative: DURING AN ILS APCH TO RWY 35L AT DEN, AS THE ACFT WAS IN THE LNDG FLARE, A GUST OF WIND LIFTED THE R WING AT TOUCHDOWN. THE FO WAS FLYING THE ACFT. THE ACFT TOUCHED DOWN ON THE L MAIN GEAR FIRST AND THE OUTBOARD FLAP ON THE L WING TOUCHED THE GND AND WAS DAMAGED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 416257: RPTED WIND ON ATIS WAS 050 DEGS AT 15 KTS. THE CAPT ASSISTED THE FO IN LEVELING THE WINGS AT TOUCHDOWN. WE WERE UNAWARE OF A WING/GND STRIKE UNTIL THE MECH INFORMED US OF WINGTIP DAMAGE UPON REACHING THE PARKING AREA. THE OUTBOARD LEADING EDGE DEVICE AND TRAILING EDGE FLAP WERE DAMAGED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 416259: ATIS VISIBILITY WAS RVR 2600 FT, VARIABLE 5000 FT. WHILE IN PARKING AREA TO UNLOAD CARGO, THE MECH CAME TO THE COCKPIT AND TOLD THE FLC THAT THE OUTER WING FLAP ON THE L WING LOOKED AS IF IT HAD MADE GND CONTACT. THE FLC EXITED THE ACFT TO CONFIRM DAMAGE AND ENTERED SAME IN LOGBOOK.
