Narrative:

We operated a flight from mem to mia. Arriving mia, we had an aircraft change which was unusual on this trip sequence. Preflight inspection of the new aircraft found a few maintenance problems which maintenance corrected. We departed late for our flight to svva. We were informed that 2 legs and 2 crews after our arrival in svva, the required overwater kits were missing. To the best of our recollection, preflight inspection in mia and all of our flight documents indicated that the overwater kits were on board at the time of our departure. Subsequent crew and their flight documents indicated that the overwater kits were on board. A possible suggestion to prevent future missing kits is to increase security at international locations while aircraft is on the ramp.
