Narrative:
Grossly inaccurate WX forecasting caused planned VFR arrival at unfamiliar airport (lfk) to be made when control zone was IFR due to low ceilings. Confusion concerning proper controling agency. Unicom unresponsive to radio calls. Insufficient planning for alternate landing outside of controller's airspace.
