Narrative:

During preflight walkaround inspection and prior to aircraft acceptance for flight by the flight crew, a low hydraulic quantity was observed. Maintenance was informed by the captain (in the person of a company mechanic who happened to be at the aircraft already). He decided to do a routine refill service and not enter it in the maintenance log as he considered it a routine refill service. He reported back to us that everything was complete a few mins later. The hydraulic gauge in the cockpit now read full.
