Narrative:
Lga was slow, our aircraft was told to go 'position and hold on runway 31.' no other aircraft were behind us in line for takeoff. Landing traffic was using runway 22. Copilot was flying. While holding on runway 31 we noticed aircraft land on runway 22. After second (?) aircraft landed on runway 22, B737 landed over the top of us onto runway 31. We called tower to inform that we were holding on runway 31 and traffic just landed over the top of us. After 1 min, we departed off of runway 31. All our lights (strobes, landing lights, recognition lights) were on when we were on the runway, holding, except our ice lights. In hindsight, I believe that illuminating our wings with the ice lights as well as briefing as to the next aircraft to land on our runway (location) might have helped. I do not remember hearing an aircraft cleared for landing on our runway.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B737 LANDED OVER THE TOP OF A BE90 AT LGA HOLDING IN POS ON RWY 31.
Narrative: LGA WAS SLOW, OUR ACFT WAS TOLD TO GO 'POS AND HOLD ON RWY 31.' NO OTHER ACFT WERE BEHIND US IN LINE FOR TKOF. LNDG TFC WAS USING RWY 22. COPLT WAS FLYING. WHILE HOLDING ON RWY 31 WE NOTICED ACFT LAND ON RWY 22. AFTER SECOND (?) ACFT LANDED ON RWY 22, B737 LANDED OVER THE TOP OF US ONTO RWY 31. WE CALLED TWR TO INFORM THAT WE WERE HOLDING ON RWY 31 AND TFC JUST LANDED OVER THE TOP OF US. AFTER 1 MIN, WE DEPARTED OFF OF RWY 31. ALL OUR LIGHTS (STROBES, LNDG LIGHTS, RECOGNITION LIGHTS) WERE ON WHEN WE WERE ON THE RWY, HOLDING, EXCEPT OUR ICE LIGHTS. IN HINDSIGHT, I BELIEVE THAT ILLUMINATING OUR WINGS WITH THE ICE LIGHTS AS WELL AS BRIEFING AS TO THE NEXT ACFT TO LAND ON OUR RWY (LOCATION) MIGHT HAVE HELPED. I DO NOT REMEMBER HEARING AN ACFT CLRED FOR LNDG ON OUR RWY.
