Narrative:
This incident occurred while taxiing on the ground at teb airport. We landed on runway 19 and cleared on taxiway K. Ground control instructed us to taxi down taxiway left and hold short of runway 24. I stopped the aircraft well short of runway 24. Ground control then cleared us to cross runway 24. Before moving the aircraft the first officer and myself looked right to clear the runway and saw no other aircraft. I then began taxiing and just before crossing the runway I took another look to the right and saw the landing lights of an aircraft that was departing and closing rapidly. I applied maximum braking and stopped on the edge of the runway as the departing aircraft went by us. Upon reaching the FBO, I called the tower and was told that the local controller did not know that the ground controller had cleared us to cross the runway.

Title: AFTER LNDG AT TEB, THE GND CTLR INSTRUCTED AN MLG PVT ACFT TO CROSS RWY 24. AS THE PLTS STARTED TO CROSS THE RWY, AN ACFT WAS OBSERVED DEPARTING. THE MLG CREW WAS ABLE TO STOP AT THE EDGE OF THE RWY.
Narrative: THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE TAXIING ON THE GND AT TEB ARPT. WE LANDED ON RWY 19 AND CLRED ON TXWY K. GND CTL INSTRUCTED US TO TAXI DOWN TXWY L AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 24. I STOPPED THE ACFT WELL SHORT OF RWY 24. GND CTL THEN CLRED US TO CROSS RWY 24. BEFORE MOVING THE ACFT THE FO AND MYSELF LOOKED R TO CLR THE RWY AND SAW NO OTHER ACFT. I THEN BEGAN TAXIING AND JUST BEFORE XING THE RWY I TOOK ANOTHER LOOK TO THE R AND SAW THE LNDG LIGHTS OF AN ACFT THAT WAS DEPARTING AND CLOSING RAPIDLY. I APPLIED MAX BRAKING AND STOPPED ON THE EDGE OF THE RWY AS THE DEPARTING ACFT WENT BY US. UPON REACHING THE FBO, I CALLED THE TWR AND WAS TOLD THAT THE LCL CTLR DID NOT KNOW THAT THE GND CTLR HAD CLRED US TO CROSS THE RWY.
