Narrative:
Student failed to execute a go around after drifting left during a normal crosswind landing. Wind conditions were 210 degrees at 12 KTS. The aircraft drifted left due to the banked attitude when the student incorrectly attempted to align the aircraft with the runway. When I instructed the student to initiate a go around, he applied partial power which resulted in the aircraft touching down beyond the left side of runway 19. The student is scheduled to be evaluated by the chief pilot. In addition, a ground session will be used to discuss this incident before continuing his training.

THE ACFT DRIFTED L DUE TO THE BANKED ATTITUDE WHEN THE STUDENT INCORRECTLY ATTEMPTED TO ALIGN THE ACFT WITH THE RWY. WHEN I INSTRUCTED THE STUDENT TO INITIATE A GAR, HE APPLIED PARTIAL PWR WHICH RESULTED IN THE ACFT TOUCHING DOWN BEYOND THE L SIDE OF RWY 19. THE STUDENT IS SCHEDULED TO BE EVALUATED BY THE CHIEF PLT. IN ADDITION, A GND SESSION WILL BE USED TO DISCUSS THIS INCIDENT BEFORE CONTINUING HIS TRAINING.
