Narrative:
Location: 20 DME prior to benky-bradford arrival. Descending through 15000 ft to cross benky at 11000 ft, we received a TA. I disconnected the autoplt and autothrottles and began a climbing left turn to avoid the obvious conflict. The TA turned to an RA. We missed VFR traffic at 14500 ft opposite direction on the arrival radial. ATC never called out traffic. Without TCASII and had we been IMC, I feel we would have had a midair collision.
