Narrative:
Taxiing to runway 23L from the terminal during VFR dusk conditions there was another air carrier plane in place holding short of the runway. He was perpendicular to us. As we got closer to the end of the taxiway, he was cleared for takeoff. We had some construction barriers/lights on the left side of the taxiway just at the end as you make the turn. I was looking there ensuring I wouldn't hit anything or knock it over with jet blast. After I rounded the corner, I looked for the hold short line. (I had the mental picture of the previous aircraft perpendicular to us, turned fully 90 degrees.) not seeing one, I stopped immediately and looked behind us. We crossed what looked to be the hold short line by 10-15 ft. As I found the line, tower cleared us for takeoff. The hold short line did not stand out with my taxi light on (may require repainting). The first officer was on his second flight since IOE and, while enthusiastic, not very helpful.

Narrative: TAXIING TO RWY 23L FROM THE TERMINAL DURING VFR DUSK CONDITIONS THERE WAS ANOTHER ACR PLANE IN PLACE HOLDING SHORT OF THE RWY. HE WAS PERPENDICULAR TO US. AS WE GOT CLOSER TO THE END OF THE TXWY, HE WAS CLRED FOR TKOF. WE HAD SOME CONSTRUCTION BARRIERS/LIGHTS ON THE L SIDE OF THE TXWY JUST AT THE END AS YOU MAKE THE TURN. I WAS LOOKING THERE ENSURING I WOULDN'T HIT ANYTHING OR KNOCK IT OVER WITH JET BLAST. AFTER I ROUNDED THE CORNER, I LOOKED FOR THE HOLD SHORT LINE. (I HAD THE MENTAL PICTURE OF THE PREVIOUS ACFT PERPENDICULAR TO US, TURNED FULLY 90 DEGS.) NOT SEEING ONE, I STOPPED IMMEDIATELY AND LOOKED BEHIND US. WE CROSSED WHAT LOOKED TO BE THE HOLD SHORT LINE BY 10-15 FT. AS I FOUND THE LINE, TWR CLRED US FOR TKOF. THE HOLD SHORT LINE DID NOT STAND OUT WITH MY TAXI LIGHT ON (MAY REQUIRE REPAINTING). THE FO WAS ON HIS SECOND FLT SINCE IOE AND, WHILE ENTHUSIASTIC, NOT VERY HELPFUL.
