Narrative:
While on climb out through FL180 we were given a TA and we let ourselves get distraction and neglected to change our altimeters over to 29.92, resulting in our leveling off 350 ft below FL280 on the ATC altitude readout. We corrected the altimeters with no further problems.

Title: FK10 LEVELS OFF BELOW CLRED ALT AFTER CREW FAILS TO RESET ALTIMETER TO STANDARD SETTING DURING CLB IN ZKC AIRSPACE.
Narrative: WHILE ON CLBOUT THROUGH FL180 WE WERE GIVEN A TA AND WE LET OURSELVES GET DISTR AND NEGLECTED TO CHANGE OUR ALTIMETERS OVER TO 29.92, RESULTING IN OUR LEVELING OFF 350 FT BELOW FL280 ON THE ATC ALT READOUT. WE CORRECTED THE ALTIMETERS WITH NO FURTHER PROBS.
