Deeds intersection, descending through FL180 in flight level change with autoplt engaged. While lifting speed brake handle out of the detent, experienced a nose down stabilizer trim runaway. Accomplished immediate action items and runaway stabilizer trim checklist. Stabilizer trim operation normal for the remainder of the flight.

Title: A DSNDING B757-200 FLC EXPERIENCES A RUNAWAY NOSE DOWN TRIM WHEN THE CAPT STARTED TO DEPLOY THE SPD BRAKES. CHKLIST USE OVERCAME THE TEMPORARY LOSS OF ACFT CTL.
