Narrative:

I took off from a runway that was 'closed for takeoff.' the runway was runway 4 at aiy, bader field, atlantic city, nj. Aiy is unmanned. There is a sign on the field stating runway 22 is closed for lndgs, but no sign for runway 4. Both closures are described in the AFD. I fly into aiy field and have used runway 29/11. I get a briefing from FSS. Correction action: I will check more thoroughly the AFD, even for airports I am familiar with.
