Narrative:
During descent to dfw we experienced complete loss of system B hydraulics. This affected aircraft control, however, we ran appropriate checklists and we continued to dfw for a visual approach to runway 17R. We asked ATC for crash fire rescue equipment to stand by and for company to have a tug to tow us to ramp as braking would be in question. We overshot final briefly as control was slower to respond than normal. We landed uneventfully, but during tow in the tow bar broke. This caused the aircraft to lurch then roll towards the tug. The first officer stopped the aircraft with the brakes. Ground crew got another tow bar and towed us to the gate. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated the aircraft was a B727-200 and the hydraulic loss was caused by a failed fitting in the aft stairway reservoir area.

Title: A B727-200 ON DSCNT AT 16000 FT EXPERIENCED COMPLETE LOSS OF B SYS HYD PRESSURE AND QUANTITY CAUSED BY A FAILED FITTING IN THE B SYS RESERVOIR AREA.
Narrative: DURING DSCNT TO DFW WE EXPERIENCED COMPLETE LOSS OF SYS B HYDS. THIS AFFECTED ACFT CTL, HOWEVER, WE RAN APPROPRIATE CHKLISTS AND WE CONTINUED TO DFW FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 17R. WE ASKED ATC FOR CFR TO STAND BY AND FOR COMPANY TO HAVE A TUG TO TOW US TO RAMP AS BRAKING WOULD BE IN QUESTION. WE OVERSHOT FINAL BRIEFLY AS CTL WAS SLOWER TO RESPOND THAN NORMAL. WE LANDED UNEVENTFULLY, BUT DURING TOW IN THE TOW BAR BROKE. THIS CAUSED THE ACFT TO LURCH THEN ROLL TOWARDS THE TUG. THE FO STOPPED THE ACFT WITH THE BRAKES. GND CREW GOT ANOTHER TOW BAR AND TOWED US TO THE GATE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THE ACFT WAS A B727-200 AND THE HYD LOSS WAS CAUSED BY A FAILED FITTING IN THE AFT STAIRWAY RESERVOIR AREA.
