Narrative:
On climb out ATC gave holding instructions. While copying instructions aircraft climbed through FL180 and altimeters were not reset. Aircraft leveled off 400 ft low due to altitude setting. ATC notified us and we reset 29.92 and climbed to FL270. The holding instructions on climb out distracted the crew and the climb check was not accomplished.

Title: FLC OF A B757 UNDERSHOT ASSIGNED CRUISE ALT DUE TO FORGETTING TO RESET ALTIMETERS AT FL180. ARTCC CTLR INTERVENED AND ALERTED FLC REGARDING THEIR ACTUAL ALT.
Narrative: ON CLBOUT ATC GAVE HOLDING INSTRUCTIONS. WHILE COPYING INSTRUCTIONS ACFT CLBED THROUGH FL180 AND ALTIMETERS WERE NOT RESET. ACFT LEVELED OFF 400 FT LOW DUE TO ALT SETTING. ATC NOTIFIED US AND WE RESET 29.92 AND CLBED TO FL270. THE HOLDING INSTRUCTIONS ON CLBOUT DISTRACTED THE CREW AND THE CLB CHK WAS NOT ACCOMPLISHED.
