Narrative:

ATIS for bdr class D airspace should contain NOTAMS for the terminal area. NOTAM existed for jsd airspace (class D abutting airspace). This NOTAM indicated the nonstandard condition of jsd airspace. This is a safety of flight requirement because jsd has camouflaged helicopters doing flight test work. ATIS procedures (section 9-3-east) require this inclusion.

Title: INSTRUCTOR PLT COMPLAINS THAT THE STATUS OF THE JSD TWR, OPEN OR CLOSED, AT AN ADJOINING HELIPORT WHICH ABUTS TO THE PRIMARY ARPT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE TERMINAL AREA ATIS. HE BELIEVES THAT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE IT IS NOTAMED OPEN SOMETIMES WHEN IT IS NOT SCHEDULED TO BE WHICH IS NOT KNOWN TO PLTS IN THE AIR SINCE IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE TERMINAL AREA ATIS.

Narrative: ATIS FOR BDR CLASS D AIRSPACE SHOULD CONTAIN NOTAMS FOR THE TERMINAL AREA. NOTAM EXISTED FOR JSD AIRSPACE (CLASS D ABUTTING AIRSPACE).
