Narrative:
While on base for runway 19, approach had me contact the tower. I contacted the tower and stated I was on left base for runway 19 for touch-and-go. Tower stated clear to land. I turned final, noticed jet taking off. A single engine propeller contacted tower stated holding short for runway 19. Tower gave them clearance to make expedited takeoff. Plane took off as I landed. As I was rolling, preparing to takeoff, tower gave me taxi instructions to ramp. I stated I would like this to be touch-and-go. Tower stated, 'then get going.' I accelerated and lifted off. Tower stated, 'make right turn' as my wheels left the runway. I did not hear call sign. I thought he was talking to the aircraft in front of me. When there was no answer, I called and asked if he wanted me to turn. He stated yes immediately. I turned right. The tower gave me a heading to fly and then stated that I should state my requests ahead of time. Tower had me contact departure. Rest of flight was normal. I did not realize the tower misread my request when I was on base. I should have noticed this when they said clear to land instead of clear for touch-and-go. I should have stated I was a student pilot.

Title: C172 MISCOMMUNICATES WITH ALB TWR WHILE ON TOUCH-AND-GO TRAINING FLT.
Narrative: WHILE ON BASE FOR RWY 19, APCH HAD ME CONTACT THE TWR. I CONTACTED THE TWR AND STATED I WAS ON L BASE FOR RWY 19 FOR TOUCH-AND-GO. TWR STATED CLR TO LAND. I TURNED FINAL, NOTICED JET TAKING OFF. A SINGLE ENG PROP CONTACTED TWR STATED HOLDING SHORT FOR RWY 19. TWR GAVE THEM CLRNC TO MAKE EXPEDITED TKOF. PLANE TOOK OFF AS I LANDED. AS I WAS ROLLING, PREPARING TO TKOF, TWR GAVE ME TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO RAMP. I STATED I WOULD LIKE THIS TO BE TOUCH-AND-GO. TWR STATED, 'THEN GET GOING.' I ACCELERATED AND LIFTED OFF. TWR STATED, 'MAKE R TURN' AS MY WHEELS LEFT THE RWY. I DID NOT HEAR CALL SIGN. I THOUGHT HE WAS TALKING TO THE ACFT IN FRONT OF ME. WHEN THERE WAS NO ANSWER, I CALLED AND ASKED IF HE WANTED ME TO TURN. HE STATED YES IMMEDIATELY. I TURNED R. THE TWR GAVE ME A HDG TO FLY AND THEN STATED THAT I SHOULD STATE MY REQUESTS AHEAD OF TIME. TWR HAD ME CONTACT DEP. REST OF FLT WAS NORMAL. I DID NOT REALIZE THE TWR MISREAD MY REQUEST WHEN I WAS ON BASE. I SHOULD HAVE NOTICED THIS WHEN THEY SAID CLR TO LAND INSTEAD OF CLR FOR TOUCH-AND-GO. I SHOULD HAVE STATED I WAS A STUDENT PLT.
