Narrative:
Landed on runway 35R. After landing, was told to contact ground. Ground controller cleared us to taxi and hold short of runway 35L on taxiway Z. We noticed a jet on short final for runway 35C. As we crossed runway 35C, we commented to ourselves that it looked odd to us to have a jet on close final for runway 35C and that we were cleared to hold short of runway 35L. It appeared that, although odd, it would not pose a safety problem, so we continued across runway 35C and held short of runway 35L on taxiway Z. We then were contacted by ATC on the other side. When we spoke to ATC on the phone they indicated that we should have know to hold short of runway 35C as we would normally be given another frequency to contact prior to crossing runway 35C. However, we believe we were cleared on taxiway Z off runway 35R to taxi to and hold short of runway 35L and did not have to hold short of runway 35C. Controller on phone said it would not be a problem and we should not hear about it.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A TAXIING ACR ACFT CROSSES RWY 35C, TXWY Z, AND HOLDS SHORT OF RWY 35L AS CLRED. GND CTL TELLS THEM THEY SHOULD HAVE HELD SHORT OF RWY 35C. AN ACFT HAD BEEN NOTED ON SHORT FINAL FOR RWY 35C BY THE TAXIING CREW.
Narrative: LANDED ON RWY 35R. AFTER LNDG, WAS TOLD TO CONTACT GND. GND CTLR CLRED US TO TAXI AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 35L ON TXWY Z. WE NOTICED A JET ON SHORT FINAL FOR RWY 35C. AS WE CROSSED RWY 35C, WE COMMENTED TO OURSELVES THAT IT LOOKED ODD TO US TO HAVE A JET ON CLOSE FINAL FOR RWY 35C AND THAT WE WERE CLRED TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 35L. IT APPEARED THAT, ALTHOUGH ODD, IT WOULD NOT POSE A SAFETY PROB, SO WE CONTINUED ACROSS RWY 35C AND HELD SHORT OF RWY 35L ON TXWY Z. WE THEN WERE CONTACTED BY ATC ON THE OTHER SIDE. WHEN WE SPOKE TO ATC ON THE PHONE THEY INDICATED THAT WE SHOULD HAVE KNOW TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 35C AS WE WOULD NORMALLY BE GIVEN ANOTHER FREQ TO CONTACT PRIOR TO XING RWY 35C. HOWEVER, WE BELIEVE WE WERE CLRED ON TXWY Z OFF RWY 35R TO TAXI TO AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 35L AND DID NOT HAVE TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 35C. CTLR ON PHONE SAID IT WOULD NOT BE A PROB AND WE SHOULD NOT HEAR ABOUT IT.
