Narrative:
Talked into taking aircraft with following MEL's: a) first officer's airspeed bug inoperative, B) first officer's flight director inoperative, C) 1 mach trim inoperative. D) 1 speed trim system inoperative. East) both autoplts inoperative. Then once airborne, had some first officer and captain HSI display abnormalities. After discussion with maintenance control and dispatch flight control, changed our destination back to sea. Returned without incident.

Title: A B737-400 DEPARTS SEA WITH A MULTITUDE OF DEFERRED ITEMS. AFTER THE FLT WAS ENRTE THE ACFT EXPERIENCED FURTHER MALFUNCTIONS AND THE CAPT ELECTED TO RETURN TO SEA.
Narrative: TALKED INTO TAKING ACFT WITH FOLLOWING MEL'S: A) FO'S AIRSPD BUG INOP, B) FO'S FLT DIRECTOR INOP, C) 1 MACH TRIM INOP. D) 1 SPD TRIM SYS INOP. E) BOTH AUTOPLTS INOP. THEN ONCE AIRBORNE, HAD SOME FO AND CAPT HSI DISPLAY ABNORMALITIES. AFTER DISCUSSION WITH MAINT CTL AND DISPATCH FLT CTL, CHANGED OUR DEST BACK TO SEA. RETURNED WITHOUT INCIDENT.
