Narrative:
Jetway impacted a #2 engine pad when moving toward aircraft. Damage noted to #2 engine pod. Could have been avoided if area had been cleared prior to moving jetway. No marshaller used either. A single person operating jetway in this manner is unacceptable.

Title: JETWAY STRUCK ENG POD #2 OF A 4-ENG ACR WHEN EXTENDING IT FOR PAX DEPLANING, RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE ENG COWLING.
Narrative: JETWAY IMPACTED A #2 ENG PAD WHEN MOVING TOWARD ACFT. DAMAGE NOTED TO #2 ENG POD. COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF AREA HAD BEEN CLRED PRIOR TO MOVING JETWAY. NO MARSHALLER USED EITHER. A SINGLE PERSON OPERATING JETWAY IN THIS MANNER IS UNACCEPTABLE.
