Narrative:

Was with ord approach at approximately XA00Z when a TA illuminated, followed by an immediate RA. I was at 4500 ft assigned. In order to comply with the RA, we executed an abrupt climb, leveling at 5000 ft MSL. The intruder aircraft was a C150 or C152 that passed below our flight path. The aircraft was close enough to make out the paint scheme. ATC was advised by first officer that we had an RA and were climbing. Upon reaching 5000 ft, ATC advised he had just picked him up (target) when we announced our climb. No further incident occurred.
