Ord ATIS not readable, intermittent. Altimeter setting not given on descent instructions or not received during transmission. Pressure was high, 29.92 in hg setting resulted in flying too low. When altimeter received from company for ord, 30.33 in hg, it was set in barometer by bearz, at 11000 ft MSL.

Title: FLC OF AN AIRBUS A300 HAD NOT RESET THEIR ALTIMETER DURING DSCNT DUE TO THE ATIS UNREADABLE CAUSING THEM TO OVERSHOOT A STAR XING FIX.
Narrative: ORD ATIS NOT READABLE, INTERMITTENT. ALTIMETER SETTING NOT GIVEN ON DSCNT INSTRUCTIONS OR NOT RECEIVED DURING XMISSION. PRESSURE WAS HIGH, 29.92 IN HG SETTING RESULTED IN FLYING TOO LOW. WHEN ALTIMETER RECEIVED FROM COMPANY FOR ORD, 30.33 IN HG, IT WAS SET IN BAROMETER BY BEARZ, AT 11000 FT MSL.
