Narrative:

Clearance was copied for a drake 6 departure (plate 10-3A). During taxi, the plate fell from the yoke. It was picked up and replaced with the buckeye 2 departure facing up. Since most of our phoenix departures from runways 26 call for the buckeye departure, the error was not noticed. The takeoff briefing was for the wrong departure procedure. It calls for a late turn after departure (240 degrees) when departing runways 26L&right. We were on runway 26R (a potentially huge and dangerous error). Tower personnel noticed our turn and called for us to return to runway heading (258 degrees). The departure continued with no further problems. The single mistake of not reading the departure name when the plate was replaced on the yoke. The departure when flown correctly (buckeye 2) still calls for the aircraft departing runway 26R to fly across the departure course of runway 26L. A questionable procedure. Our departure runway had been switched (left to right) and we failed to take note of the possible consequences. Good ATC practices (by the tower) were greatly appreciated. They even knew which procedure we were trying to fly.

Title: FLC OF A CESSNA CITATION 3 TURNED THE WRONG WAY AFTER TKOF INITIAL CLB DUE TO REFING THE WRONG SID. DEP CTLR INTERVENED AND THE CREW TURNED BACK TO THE RWY HDG.

Narrative: CLRNC WAS COPIED FOR A DRAKE 6 DEP (PLATE 10-3A). DURING TAXI, THE PLATE FELL FROM THE YOKE. IT WAS PICKED UP AND REPLACED WITH THE BUCKEYE 2 DEP FACING UP. SINCE MOST OF OUR PHOENIX DEPS FROM RWYS 26 CALL FOR THE BUCKEYE DEP, THE ERROR WAS NOT NOTICED. THE TKOF BRIEFING WAS FOR THE WRONG DEP PROC. IT CALLS FOR A LATE TURN AFTER DEP (240 DEGS) WHEN DEPARTING RWYS 26L&R. WE WERE ON RWY 26R (A POTENTIALLY HUGE AND DANGEROUS ERROR). TWR PERSONNEL NOTICED OUR TURN AND CALLED FOR US TO RETURN TO RWY HDG (258 DEGS). THE DEP CONTINUED WITH NO FURTHER PROBS. THE SINGLE MISTAKE OF NOT READING THE DEP NAME WHEN THE PLATE WAS REPLACED ON THE YOKE. THE DEP WHEN FLOWN CORRECTLY (BUCKEYE 2) STILL CALLS FOR THE ACFT DEPARTING RWY 26R TO FLY ACROSS THE DEP COURSE OF RWY 26L. A QUESTIONABLE PROC. OUR DEP RWY HAD BEEN SWITCHED (L TO R) AND WE FAILED TO TAKE NOTE OF THE POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES. GOOD ATC PRACTICES (BY THE TWR) WERE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THEY EVEN KNEW WHICH PROC WE WERE TRYING TO FLY.
