Narrative:
I was the PNF of air carrier X to nashville. While on the hehaw 3 arrival, we were given a late descent clearance to cross hehaw at 10000 ft. The clearance was about 15 mi less than a 3:1 descent. We both realized it was late but the captain didn't want me to say anything to center. He descended at barber pole with power off and missed the crossing by 1000 ft. I had queried him twice during the descent about not being able to make hehaw at 10000 ft but he refused to use the speed brakes or have me say anything to ATC. We crossed hehaw at 11000 ft. He simply stated, 'well, they always do this to you here and I tried my best.' I was under the impression he didn't really care because he's close to retirement and is not willing to put up with much. However, I don't feel the same way and should have alerted ATC regardless.
