Narrative:
While lining up for takeoff, we understood an aircraft had been cleared for takeoff ahead of us. We were #2 for takeoff. After his takeoff, my copilot acknowledged the tower's clearance to line up and wait after departing traffic. We looked for approaching traffic per checklist and taxied into position to line up and wait per clearance. While waiting for takeoff with parking brake set, the tower came over the frequency and advised us our clearance was after landing traffic to line up and wait. All 3 of us thought we heard the same thing. We told the tower what our clearance was we heard. In spanish, we heard the tower tell an aircraft on approach to go around. The tower then cleared us for takeoff. The next time I would really stress the sterile cockpit environment and listen very carefully for instructions, especially with the challenge of a foreign accent.

Narrative: WHILE LINING UP FOR TKOF, WE UNDERSTOOD AN ACFT HAD BEEN CLRED FOR TKOF AHEAD OF US. WE WERE #2 FOR TKOF. AFTER HIS TKOF, MY COPLT ACKNOWLEDGED THE TWR'S CLRNC TO LINE UP AND WAIT AFTER DEPARTING TFC. WE LOOKED FOR APCHING TFC PER CHKLIST AND TAXIED INTO POS TO LINE UP AND WAIT PER CLRNC. WHILE WAITING FOR TKOF WITH PARKING BRAKE SET, THE TWR CAME OVER THE FREQ AND ADVISED US OUR CLRNC WAS AFTER LNDG TFC TO LINE UP AND WAIT. ALL 3 OF US THOUGHT WE HEARD THE SAME THING. WE TOLD THE TWR WHAT OUR CLRNC WAS WE HEARD. IN SPANISH, WE HEARD THE TWR TELL AN ACFT ON APCH TO GO AROUND. THE TWR THEN CLRED US FOR TKOF.
