Narrative:
I was approaching myf for landing over mt helix when the engine quit suddenly. I diverted to gillespie where I landed on runway 35. Probable cause: tanks not completely topped off, flight times 3.3 hours, failure to watch gauges and estimate endurance of airplane.

Title: LOW TIME PVT PLT EXHAUSTED FUEL SUPPLY.
Narrative: I WAS APCHING MYF FOR LNDG OVER MT HELIX WHEN THE ENG QUIT SUDDENLY. I DIVERTED TO GILLESPIE WHERE I LANDED ON RWY 35. PROBABLE CAUSE: TANKS NOT COMPLETELY TOPPED OFF, FLT TIMES 3.3 HRS, FAILURE TO WATCH GAUGES AND ESTIMATE ENDURANCE OF AIRPLANE.
