Narrative:
While climbing on the departure procedure from gso, was cleared to 12000 ft. Captain was hand flying with autoplt off and flight director on. Overshot target altitude by 350 ft and immediately pushed over to 12000 ft with no conflicts. Departure controller said to 'maintain 12000 ft' and handed us off to the next sector. At the time of the incident, the climb checklist was being completed by the crew.

Title: CAPT OF A C550 OVERSHOT ASSIGNED ALT DURING SID DEP AND NOTICED ERROR AND WAS RETURNING WHEN THE DEP CTLR REITERATED ALT ASSIGNMENT.
Narrative: WHILE CLBING ON THE DEP PROC FROM GSO, WAS CLRED TO 12000 FT. CAPT WAS HAND FLYING WITH AUTOPLT OFF AND FLT DIRECTOR ON. OVERSHOT TARGET ALT BY 350 FT AND IMMEDIATELY PUSHED OVER TO 12000 FT WITH NO CONFLICTS. DEP CTLR SAID TO 'MAINTAIN 12000 FT' AND HANDED US OFF TO THE NEXT SECTOR. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, THE CLB CHKLIST WAS BEING COMPLETED BY THE CREW.
