Narrative:
Original clearance from hector VOR to lax was the civet arrival. Because of traffic, we were given a vector to intercept the runway 24R localizer and the mitts arrival. Turned to a heading to intercept the localizer while we pulled out the new arrival and approach plates and intercepted the localizer while on heading select. While the first officer briefed the arrival and approach we drifted left of the localizer and ATC gave us a turn to reintercept the localizer.

Narrative: ORIGINAL CLRNC FROM HECTOR VOR TO LAX WAS THE CIVET ARR. BECAUSE OF TFC, WE WERE GIVEN A VECTOR TO INTERCEPT THE RWY 24R LOC AND THE MITTS ARR. TURNED TO A HDG TO INTERCEPT THE LOC WHILE WE PULLED OUT THE NEW ARR AND APCH PLATES AND INTERCEPTED THE LOC WHILE ON HDG SELECT. WHILE THE FO BRIEFED THE ARR AND APCH WE DRIFTED L OF THE LOC AND ATC GAVE US A TURN TO REINTERCEPT THE LOC.
