Narrative:
Arrived at the aircraft and began preflight duties. When I opened the log to review the maintenance history, there was only 1 1/2 days of pages. Today is monday and the only other date in the book was sunday, and the aircraft jut flew in from YYY and before that ZZZ. I immediately called to see if a computer run of a handful of days would be sufficient. The decision was that a 10 day run would make me legal to fly. My concern is for the other 2 capts who flew the aircraft before me, so I called and asked them to let the previous capts know of this. They said they would. My second concern is that the folks at maintenance are not aware that we have to have at least 3 days of aircraft maintenance history to review.
