Narrative:
We had filed IFR out of ewr by our normal routing. Parke - J6 hvq trump to pwa. When we got our clearance it was as filed, except after hvq it was J78 to tul, then as filed. We mentioned we would request hvq to trump after we got in touch with center. We did not change the programming in our GPS (a mistake). About 100 mi from pocket city VOR, center asked us if we were on J78 -- we weren't. We had the autoplt hooked to the GPS and it did just what it was programmed to do. When you get a different clearance, change the navaids! If we had taken the time to reprogram the GPS before leaving ewr the problem would not have occurred. As it was, we got complacent and we got off course! No damage done, just red faces.
