Narrative:
I realized that the airplane I was flying was unairworthy. One of the airworthiness directives had not been complied with. Regulations state that I am responsible for making sure an aircraft is airworthy before I fly it. I realize I have broken an FAA regulation and it could have easily been avoided. There should have been better communications between the instructors, owners, and mechanics of the company. I should have also taken a little more time to thoroughly look over all the maintenance records and logbooks. I understand the importance of making sure an airplane is airworthy and will be sure to check in the future.
