Narrative:
While working on air carrier ship abc may/xx/99, the flight engineer told me that personnel from airport tower had contacted them after takeoff from bna and thought that they might have come in contact with some of the runway lights (reils) during takeoff. The flight engineer said that they had a normal takeoff and thought that maybe any damage that was found was due to WX that bna had earlier and not by the airplane. She did not make any entry about this in the aircraft logbook and left. The station manager for line maintenance came on board and asked me if I had spoke with the flight crew. I told him what the flight engineer had told me and that no logbook entry had been made concerning this. I also stated that I saw the captain/copilot go outside and look at the airplane, but did not report/talk to me about anything before they left. Myself and another mechanic went to inspect the aircraft for damage and none was found. I called my lead and asked him to ask the station maintenance management what I needed to enter in the logbook. He said to let it ride after talking to the manager and that nothing needed to be entered since no damage was found and that the crew did not enter anything.
