Narrative:
While holding in position for departure from runway 7 at lzu in a twin cessna 340A, was advised by tower that there was an inbound cessna single engine to the field from the east. Tower also advised inbound aircraft of our departure from the field and of our outbound heading of 110 degrees. Tower gave us takeoff clearance and we departed the field, looking for incoming traffic. We were not advised to maintain visual separation from the other aircraft, nor was the other aircraft given any similar instructions. Immediately after departure we were advised to contact atl departure, which we did. While making a standard rate turn to our assigned heading of 110 degrees and talking to departure, right seat passenger spotted other aircraft at our approximately 11:30 O'clock position. We had reached about 2800 ft MSL at this time. Aircraft were within about 300 ft of each other. Pilot of cessna single took evasive action to his right and down. We continued our climb and steepened our right turn to avoid collision.

Title: A C340 PLT HAD A NEAR MISS WITH A SINGLE ENG CESSNA ON DEP FROM LZU.
Narrative: WHILE HOLDING IN POS FOR DEP FROM RWY 7 AT LZU IN A TWIN CESSNA 340A, WAS ADVISED BY TWR THAT THERE WAS AN INBOUND CESSNA SINGLE ENG TO THE FIELD FROM THE E. TWR ALSO ADVISED INBOUND ACFT OF OUR DEP FROM THE FIELD AND OF OUR OUTBOUND HDG OF 110 DEGS. TWR GAVE US TKOF CLRNC AND WE DEPARTED THE FIELD, LOOKING FOR INCOMING TFC. WE WERE NOT ADVISED TO MAINTAIN VISUAL SEPARATION FROM THE OTHER ACFT, NOR WAS THE OTHER ACFT GIVEN ANY SIMILAR INSTRUCTIONS. IMMEDIATELY AFTER DEP WE WERE ADVISED TO CONTACT ATL DEP, WHICH WE DID. WHILE MAKING A STANDARD RATE TURN TO OUR ASSIGNED HDG OF 110 DEGS AND TALKING TO DEP, R SEAT PAX SPOTTED OTHER ACFT AT OUR APPROX 11:30 O'CLOCK POS. WE HAD REACHED ABOUT 2800 FT MSL AT THIS TIME. ACFT WERE WITHIN ABOUT 300 FT OF EACH OTHER. PLT OF CESSNA SINGLE TOOK EVASIVE ACTION TO HIS R AND DOWN. WE CONTINUED OUR CLB AND STEEPENED OUR R TURN TO AVOID COLLISION.
