Narrative:
Although I had been to this airport and FBO 3 weeks ago, I was more unfamiliar than I realized. Ground cleared me to taxi to runway 27L. Coming out of the ramp I turned toward runway 27L only to realize I was on runway 18/36 (inactive). Stopped before intersection of this runway with runway 4/22 (also inactive) and instructed to taxi up runway 22 to taxiway G and turn right. Stopped at intersection with taxiway C, mistaking it for runway 27L. Cleared into position and hold. Started taxiing down taxiway C and realized error and stopped. Tower instructed right turn to runway 27L. Halfway through turn realized I wouldn't be able to stay on taxiway with left main gear. Stopped and received clearance for a left 360 degrees to runway 27L. Told I was #1 for takeoff. As I completed 360 degrees nose gear crossed hold line and I saw traffic on final for runway 27L. Plane stopped with main gear on hold line. Tower at same time instructed me to stop and told me he had canceled my takeoff clearance. I never heard nor acknowledged the cancellation tower says he issued me.

Title: A PA31 PLT BECAME DISORIENTED TAXIING AND CROSSED THE RWY HOLD LINE AT PTK.
Narrative: ALTHOUGH I HAD BEEN TO THIS ARPT AND FBO 3 WKS AGO, I WAS MORE UNFAMILIAR THAN I REALIZED. GND CLRED ME TO TAXI TO RWY 27L. COMING OUT OF THE RAMP I TURNED TOWARD RWY 27L ONLY TO REALIZE I WAS ON RWY 18/36 (INACTIVE). STOPPED BEFORE INTXN OF THIS RWY WITH RWY 4/22 (ALSO INACTIVE) AND INSTRUCTED TO TAXI UP RWY 22 TO TXWY G AND TURN R. STOPPED AT INTXN WITH TXWY C, MISTAKING IT FOR RWY 27L. CLRED INTO POS AND HOLD. STARTED TAXIING DOWN TXWY C AND REALIZED ERROR AND STOPPED. TWR INSTRUCTED R TURN TO RWY 27L. HALFWAY THROUGH TURN REALIZED I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO STAY ON TXWY WITH L MAIN GEAR.
