Narrative:
Soaring 6 mi south of mountain valley airport (L94), encountered severe shear which made a return to airport impossible. Found the only field to land in within several mi. Landed out as it is called. Slight damage to wingtip on left side, wing leading edge on right. No canopy damage, no tail boom damage. Landed at edge of field on approach side. Stopped within 100 ft approximately 1/2 distance from other side.
