Air Traffic Incident | Operational Error |
Narrative:
Captain flying, on descent east of kayoh intersection ATC advised of unknown traffic 2 NM west of us, co-altitude. At the same time, TCASII directed a climb RA. We reversed to a 2500 FPM climb and soon after got a monitor vertical speed indication. Target was sighted crossing right to left about 600 ft below us. The cessna, I believe it was a C310, never alerted flight path. After clear of traffic, we descended back to 10000 ft and continued the arrival. Although WX at the time was hazy and sun in our 12 O'clock position, we were able to get a visual on the traffic due to its proximity. ATC advisory preceded RA by approximately 2-3 seconds.
