Narrative:
On takeoff roll, the confign warning sounded. The takeoff was aborted. Upon returning to the gate, it was discovered that the pitch trim was set out of limits. This item is included on the taxi checklist but was missed. While running the taxi checklist, we were interrupted several times by instructions from the ground controller. In our rush to clear the runway and then to give ATC a decision to clear the taxiway, we neglected to check the trim or re-run the taxi checklist. This prompted our return to gate. When any doubt exists that all items on a checklist are complete, the entire checklist should be re-run.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: SF340 ABORTS TKOF AT PIT.
Narrative: ON TKOF ROLL, THE CONFIGN WARNING SOUNDED. THE TKOF WAS ABORTED. UPON RETURNING TO THE GATE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE PITCH TRIM WAS SET OUT OF LIMITS. THIS ITEM IS INCLUDED ON THE TAXI CHKLIST BUT WAS MISSED. WHILE RUNNING THE TAXI CHKLIST, WE WERE INTERRUPTED SEVERAL TIMES BY INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE GND CTLR. IN OUR RUSH TO CLR THE RWY AND THEN TO GIVE ATC A DECISION TO CLR THE TXWY, WE NEGLECTED TO CHK THE TRIM OR RE-RUN THE TAXI CHKLIST. THIS PROMPTED OUR RETURN TO GATE. WHEN ANY DOUBT EXISTS THAT ALL ITEMS ON A CHKLIST ARE COMPLETE, THE ENTIRE CHKLIST SHOULD BE RE-RUN.
