Narrative:
My aircraft made a precautionary landing at memphis international because the oil temperature was approaching red line and the oil pressure was decreasing. An a&P worked on my plane wednesday night, and he and I both worked on it again thursday morning. Believing it was fixed, I flew it from mem to olv (10.8 NM) where the plane is based. +/- 4 mi out I noticed the oil temperature rise. Because there was no other traffic reporting I elected to land the quickest way possible with safety paramount, that meant entering the pattern on a right base (the traffic pattern is left hand). Landing and postflt inspection was uneventful, temperature was still within operating range. The FSDO was on the field and is trying to violate me for wrong traffic entry, why? Is not safety first. Airplane is functioning fine. I would do it again if safety is not compromised. Because of mechanical reason I had to get my aircraft on the ground to avoid death.

Title: C172 PLT REPOSITIONING ACFT AFTER MAINT NOTICED INCREASING OIL TEMP AND ELECTED TO MAKE A NON STANDARD TFC PATTERN AT UNCTLED ARPT AS A PRECAUTION.
Narrative: MY ACFT MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LNDG AT MEMPHIS INTL BECAUSE THE OIL TEMP WAS APCHING RED LINE AND THE OIL PRESSURE WAS DECREASING. AN A&P WORKED ON MY PLANE WEDNESDAY NIGHT, AND HE AND I BOTH WORKED ON IT AGAIN THURSDAY MORNING. BELIEVING IT WAS FIXED, I FLEW IT FROM MEM TO OLV (10.8 NM) WHERE THE PLANE IS BASED. +/- 4 MI OUT I NOTICED THE OIL TEMP RISE. BECAUSE THERE WAS NO OTHER TFC RPTING I ELECTED TO LAND THE QUICKEST WAY POSSIBLE WITH SAFETY PARAMOUNT, THAT MEANT ENTERING THE PATTERN ON A R BASE (THE TFC PATTERN IS L HAND). LNDG AND POSTFLT INSPECTION WAS UNEVENTFUL, TEMP WAS STILL WITHIN OPERATING RANGE. THE FSDO WAS ON THE FIELD AND IS TRYING TO VIOLATE ME FOR WRONG TFC ENTRY, WHY? IS NOT SAFETY FIRST. AIRPLANE IS FUNCTIONING FINE. I WOULD DO IT AGAIN IF SAFETY IS NOT COMPROMISED. BECAUSE OF MECHANICAL REASON I HAD TO GET MY ACFT ON THE GND TO AVOID DEATH.
