Narrative:
Taxiing to gate. I was unfamiliar with bos (I was on IOE) and didn't realize that the captain's speed was inconsistent with a 'hold short' instruction. Ground queried if we were going to hold short. Captain stopped short of active runway, however an air carrier MD80 heard the confusion and elected to abort their takeoff roll.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: CAPT OF A B737 OVERSHOT THE HOLD SHORT LINE DURING TAXI-IN, RESULTING IN AN MD80 ON TKOF ROLL TO REJECT AND CLR THE RWY.
Narrative: TAXIING TO GATE. I WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH BOS (I WAS ON IOE) AND DIDN'T REALIZE THAT THE CAPT'S SPD WAS INCONSISTENT WITH A 'HOLD SHORT' INSTRUCTION. GND QUERIED IF WE WERE GOING TO HOLD SHORT. CAPT STOPPED SHORT OF ACTIVE RWY, HOWEVER AN ACR MD80 HEARD THE CONFUSION AND ELECTED TO ABORT THEIR TKOF ROLL.
