Narrative:
During taxi out from the terminal at gso, we were issued a clearance to taxi to runway 32 via txwys K, K2, M, and C. The ground controller wanted us to cross at taxiway K1. Runway 5/23 was closed for construction. We crossed the runway at taxiway K2 and joined taxiway M. We were informed by the ground controller that west were not on the issued clearance and that 'he was going to get yelled at for that.' first the taxiway K2 was not marked by construction cones or was not listed as closed on the ATIS or our company paperwork. Secondly, the txwys at gso do not have the same lettering or numbers on both sides of the runway which made it very difficult to understand the controller instruction on crossing. For example, on the northwest side it says 'taxiway K2' -- on the southeast side it says 'taxiway M4.' supplemental information from acn 441926: we were instructed by ground control too taxi to runway 32 via txwys K, K1, M, to taxiway C and to cross runway 5.
