Narrative:
First time at airport for crew. This was a charter. Given taxi instructions to 'signature ramp.' as we proceeded, taxiway suddenly narrowed and ground support was waving us in. It is a sharp turn as well as a narrow taxiway. Ramp personnel wanted to bring us in the first entrance, so the cargo doors would be in position to unload. As we turned into the ramp, the lead marshaller was giving his normal signs, then all of a sudden crossed his wands. Too late -- we already hit it. We had maintenance come out to inspect the tires and he signed them off. Corrective action: taxiway is too narrow ahd too many turns for the size of a B727. We should have taken another taxi route to signature.
