Narrative:
On preflight inspection of aircraft logbook, noted previous write-up of a possible lightning strike which had been signed off by maintenance. Assuming all required inspections had been accomplished, we flew the aircraft from tpa-stl-tpa with no problems. Evidently a new airworthiness release was required but was not accomplished prior to the flts.

Title: MLG CREW HAD NO AIRWORTHINESS RELEASE AFTER MAINT HAD BEEN PERFORMED.
Narrative: ON PREFLT INSPECTION OF ACFT LOGBOOK, NOTED PREVIOUS WRITE-UP OF A POSSIBLE LIGHTNING STRIKE WHICH HAD BEEN SIGNED OFF BY MAINT. ASSUMING ALL REQUIRED INSPECTIONS HAD BEEN ACCOMPLISHED, WE FLEW THE ACFT FROM TPA-STL-TPA WITH NO PROBS. EVIDENTLY A NEW AIRWORTHINESS RELEASE WAS REQUIRED BUT WAS NOT ACCOMPLISHED PRIOR TO THE FLTS.
