Narrative:
First had #1 bleed leak message, while completing checklist items concerning this problem. Had baggage compartment smoke warning. Completed checklist items and requested the flight attendant to visually check the compartment (part of aom checklist). She reported no evidence of smoke or fire. She continued to monitor compartment. Upon landing had crash fire rescue equipment (requested prior to landing) visually examine compartment and they found no indications of fire. We then taxied to gate. This appears to have been a malfunction of the system. A maintenance report was not available at the time of this report. This is not the first time the EMB145's aft baggage compartment smoke warning system has given a false warning.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF AN EMBRAER 145 JET HAD A BLEED AIR AND CARGO COMPARTMENT SMOKE WARNING DURING PRE-LNDG CHKLIST. AFTER RUNNING APPROPRIATE CHKLISTS AND A VISUAL CHK MADE BY THE CABIN ATTENDANT, A SUCCESSFUL LNDG WAS MADE. CHK BY FIRE RESCUE AFTER LNDG DID NOT SHOW SIGNS OF ANY FIRE.
Narrative: FIRST HAD #1 BLEED LEAK MESSAGE, WHILE COMPLETING CHKLIST ITEMS CONCERNING THIS PROB. HAD BAGGAGE COMPARTMENT SMOKE WARNING. COMPLETED CHKLIST ITEMS AND REQUESTED THE FLT ATTENDANT TO VISUALLY CHK THE COMPARTMENT (PART OF AOM CHKLIST). SHE RPTED NO EVIDENCE OF SMOKE OR FIRE. SHE CONTINUED TO MONITOR COMPARTMENT. UPON LNDG HAD CFR (REQUESTED PRIOR TO LNDG) VISUALLY EXAMINE COMPARTMENT AND THEY FOUND NO INDICATIONS OF FIRE. WE THEN TAXIED TO GATE. THIS APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A MALFUNCTION OF THE SYS. A MAINT RPT WAS NOT AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF THIS RPT. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THE EMB145'S AFT BAGGAGE COMPARTMENT SMOKE WARNING SYS HAS GIVEN A FALSE WARNING.
