Narrative:
Landed runway 22L and taxied across airport under ground control with restr to hold short runway 18. Approaching runway 18 we were 'cleared to cross runway 18, baron on 2 mi final.' we observed a beech 1900 on runway 18 holding for takeoff. The 1900 never began moving until we crossed runway 18. He then aborted his takeoff and once on ground, control complained to ground of the runway incursion. Ground reiterated that we had been cleared to cross. It is not unusual to be cleared to cross runway 18 with an aircraft in position and holding. As was usual with this situation, both pilots kept an eye on the holding aircraft until we were clear.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A PLT RPTS AN ACFT REJECTED THE TKOF DUE TO A RWY INCURSION AT LIT.
Narrative: LANDED RWY 22L AND TAXIED ACROSS ARPT UNDER GND CTL WITH RESTR TO HOLD SHORT RWY 18. APCHING RWY 18 WE WERE 'CLRED TO CROSS RWY 18, BARON ON 2 MI FINAL.' WE OBSERVED A BEECH 1900 ON RWY 18 HOLDING FOR TKOF. THE 1900 NEVER BEGAN MOVING UNTIL WE CROSSED RWY 18. HE THEN ABORTED HIS TKOF AND ONCE ON GND, CTL COMPLAINED TO GND OF THE RWY INCURSION. GND REITERATED THAT WE HAD BEEN CLRED TO CROSS. IT IS NOT UNUSUAL TO BE CLRED TO CROSS RWY 18 WITH AN ACFT IN POS AND HOLDING. AS WAS USUAL WITH THIS SIT, BOTH PLTS KEPT AN EYE ON THE HOLDING ACFT UNTIL WE WERE CLR.
