Narrative:
Cleared for bowie 5 vice bonham 3 over stl. Captain flying. Over tul, I tuned inbound to bowie and spun in radial. Noted captain had proper VOR tuned but did not verify radial. Lots of radio chatter and a flight attendant in cockpit discussing cabin items made for distrs. Call from center to turn to intercept correct radial is first indication something not right. Captain made immediate correction as directed. No obvious traffic conflict occurred. Will be more vigilant of outbound headings as well as inbounds in the future.
